Bearproofing for Grand County cabins and STRs

Winter Park requires trash inside or in a wildlife-proof container. Put-out is 6 a.m. on pickup day; back in by 8 p.m. We rent bear-resistant carts and enclosure kits, and local crews install latches that actually hold.

This is black-bear country, not a brochure. Dumpsters, coolers, chicken coops, and the grill you left out are attractants. First-party: certified-style poly carts and timber-and-steel enclosure kits you can book. Partner: on-site install, coop work, electric fence.

A dumpster without a bear latch is a citation waiting on an STR turnover. If the HOA already has an enclosure standard, send it. We would rather match the rule than argue with a ranger after a raid.

We do not trap, haze, or relocate wildlife. That's Colorado Parks & Wildlife. We lock the food.

Delivery notes

Carts and kits deliver county-wide. Install is a scheduled partner visit. Don't leave the cart unlatched 'just for the weekend.'

Seasonal availability

Year-round. Peak demand late summer through first freeze when bears load calories. Spring green-up is the other spike. Book before the HOA letter.
